Charles Anselm Blum

HAYSVILLE - Blum, Charles Anselm, 49, mechanical engineer, went to be with the Lord, April 11, 2003 from his home. Memorial service 10 a.m. Saturday, Watson Funeral Home Garden Chapel. Charlie was born Dec. 10, 1953 in Sullivan, MO. He cam eto know the Lord when he was 12 years old, and lived with the morals and values of a Christian. Charlie graduated from Sullivan High School in 1971. He received his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Missouri, Rolla, MO in 1983. In 1989 he received his second Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Wichita State University, Wichita, KS, and obtained his Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, also from Wichtia State University in Aug. 2002. Charlie came to Wichita, KS, in January of 1984 and had been employed with Boeing Aircraft Industry since that date taking medical leave with his illness in April of 2002. Charlie's favorite hobby was to ride his GPZ motorcycle and travel. He enjoyed genealogy and traveling to different parts of the country. He loved life and will be truly missed by all that knew him. Charlie is survived by his wife of 16 years, Susan Kae Lafferty; father, Frank Albert Blum; mother, Mary Louise Remmert Blum of Sullvan, MO; sons, Dwayne McAmis, Wichtia, Daniel McAmis, Electra, TX, Adam Blum, Muldrow, OK; sister, Dorothy Schebaum and husband Ralph of Japan, MO; nephews, Dean and Darren Schebaum; grandchildren, Taylor and Jonathan McAmis; and many special friends.
